The Routing service allows a Captain to receive forecasts by e-mail, which contain detailed information on the marine weather conditions on a predetermined route.
We are only able to comply with your request for a forecast during daytime between 9 and 18; at other times we advise you use the telephone service. The written forecasts are usually sent by email, but can also be sent by fax if a Captain does not have e-mail access.
A forecast includes a general synoptic situation, together with detailed wind and wave information. At the end of a forecast, the forecaster will also complete a section with handy advice and recommendations. These are important indications that not aimed at influencing his decisions, but can be a useful tool to ensure higher safety and comfort in relation to the actual and forecast weather conditions, depending on the characteristics of the sailing boat or yacht.
